![]() ![]() If you have put your Mac into Lost Mode, and you have a login requirement for your User account, then when the Mac connects to a known network, the Lost Mode will cause it to be restarted, and then a screen will display requiring the Lost Mode password to be input prior to being able to login to your User account. If you have "Remember Known Networks" turned on, and the Mac is within range of one of those networks, and the network does not require a password, it will connect to Wifi whether it is logged on or not. It is correct that if you erase your content you will lost the ability to track your MacĢ. you have to wait for someone to hack past your password in order to locate it and show your message to please return it.ġ. Though the majority of apple techs told me my password needed to be bypassed in order for find my iPhone app to be set in motion this seems a bit hard to believe considering it makes the find my iphone app a bit useless if you have a password on your computer. 1 apple person told me that the message would appear and the locking would be put in motion just by turning on the computer. my computer has a password (this is not the new password that the find my phone app will apply)Ħ of the 7 apple people i spoke to told me that the person who has my computer wound need to get past my password and go online in order for the find my iphone app to work, therefore: for my message to appear and for the computer to be locked. the find my iphone app tells you you will be notified once your computer goes online. ideally i would be able to erase and then be able to lock it and use find my phone but since i was told that is not possible i locked it and put a message to contact me, which is currently pending until someone goes online.Ģ. I was then told to lock it instead but that once i did i would not be able to erase it. i was told by all 7 if i erase my content (through the find my iphone app) it will erase the ability to then use find my phone. as i am getting different answers each time i am looking for the correct answer.ġ.
